Elevate Summer 2023
It’s that time of year. Spring is trying to burst through. School is wrapping up, and many extra curricular activities are coming to an end. Families are starting to look forward to summer! But along with that anticipation, comes the apprehension of how to keep the kids entertained and off screens during those long, hot days of summer!
I have a lot of parents ask me, “How can I help my child progress in dance, music, theater (etc) during the summer months?” And even more parents express their concern “How do I keep my kids off the screens all summer long?” Elevate Arts Academy in Lehi has the answer!
We offer summer dance camps, summer theater camps, summer music camps and summer activity camps for kids ages 3-18. Dance, theater and voice, along with many other aspects of the arts, give your child the needed physical outlet and platform for self expression that children, tweens and teens desperately need for their brain development and self confidence, that they simply can't get from screens. Where students are home from school, with extra time on their hands, so much can be done to help their physical, emotional and social growth. At Elevate Arts Academy, (formerly Elevate Dance Academy) we watch our students gain strength, express themselves emotionally, and build incredible confidence during their time with us. We want that to continue through the summer months!
Our four day summer camps span Monday-Thursday for two hours each day. We have options for morning and afternoon summer camps to fit your busy and fun summer schedule. Summer dance camp is an excellent way to get some extra practice and focused instruction, that sometimes gets put on the back burner during the busy school year. Summer music and voice camp provides the opportunity for kids interested in singing to prepare and perform a number of songs at fun summer venues and events.
Our regularly scheduled classes, taught by our professionally train teachers, begin the second week of June, and continue through early August. Summer dance classes range in style from ballet, jazz, contemporary, hiphop, tap, ballroom, and Irish. In addition to these awesome, weekly classes, Elevate Arts Academy also offers group voice lessons, childrens’ choir, and a musical theater camp where students work on singing, dancing and acting in preparation for an epic Autumn show.
Our ever popular “Princess Camp” fills up every summer, so we’ve opened more sessions this year! During princess camp, students will spend one day dedicated to a different Disney Princess. These mini princesses will play games, make crafts, and learn an adorable dance combo, all to be performed in a cute showcase for parents during the last day of camp. And of course, princess dresses are welcome and encouraged!
Our Tumble Ninja/Ninjettes Camp will provide active little ones with a safe and fun place to jump, flip, roll, balance and explore the fun skills of tumbling and parkour. With our numerous padded mats, TRX bands, mini tramps, BOSU balls and balance beams, your child will finally have a place to release his/her inner ninja (and hopefully sleep well that night).
Musical Theater Camp provides existing and new Elevate students the opportunity to test the waters and dip their toes into the quickly growing Elevate Musical Theater Program. In this program, we produce three fabulous stage productions each year. Our 2022 season ended with an epic production of “Lion King Jr” with a record breaking cast of 54 kids. Our spring production of “Annie” highlighted adorable orphans and hilarious characters like Miss Hannigan and Rooster. Our future theater productions will have you laughing and crying! Our 2023/2024 season will include titles like “Wizard of Oz”, “Aladdin Jr.” and “Frozen Jr.” These magical, hopeful stories will highlight so many of the your performers in Lehi and give lots of kids a great chance to shine. All registered students are cast in all shows! Auditions for lead roles will take place during a four day long summer camp where we dive into major scenes, production numbers are give our show its first breath of life! We hope you’ll join us!
Does your child love to sing? Is he or she wishing for more performance confidence or help with audition prep? Elevate Singers Academy is the place for you. In this program, boys and girls ages 6-18 will learn important vocal technique, healthy range expansion, audition strategy and build life long confidence for performance and life in general. These engaging group voice lessons provide students the opportunity to learn fun songs from all types of genres like pop, broadway, classical and originals! Students even choose and perfect solos, with the help of expertly trained coaches, and perform in a solo showcase. During our summer singing camps, we'll prepare an upbeat, engaging set of uplifting songs to be performed at fun summer events like parades, rodeos and talent shows. Summer is a wonderful time to take advantage of the less frantic schedule and dive into voice lessons! After mastering our pieces, e’ll film and record our favorite song and create a music video! Join our Elevate Singers Academy summer camp to try it out! You’ll be hooked!
In addition to our entertaining summer camps, we offer week long dance intensives for students young and old to hone in on their dance skills in preparation for a successful dance competition season or a wonderful year of enriching recreation dance. During these summer dance intensives, your student will get focused attention from our best instructors, and spend quality time expanding their dance skill. These intensives are available for existing Elevate Dance Company team members, and any students in our recreation dance program.
Elevate Arts Academy summer camps provide the chance to gauge a child’s interest in dance, singing, tumbling, and theater on a smaller level, before committing to a full semester.
